My Cat...

“I am not sure where the vindictive comments are coming from but I can attest to their kindness, professionalism and willingness to think outside the box and groom a cat! When I lived in Central I took my cat Kramer to Debbie (back when it was called Southern Institute of Pet Grooming) and he always looked wonderful and did not show any signs of abuse or mood changes. Granted, he was probably one of the FEW cats who enjoyed a bath and a haircut but I trusted her and her staff to treat him well and I never sensed any indication of abuse. Sounds like sour grapes on someone's part. I am not sure if they still board and groom cats but she took a chance and allowed me to bring Kramer in. We moved to Greenville and some groomers sedate animals without consent from owners. That happened to him once and I never went back. He didn't need it anyway. I missed taking him to Debbie because I did not have to worry about stuff like that. So I highly recommend her services. Kramer passed away from jaw cancer in 2007 and I have 2 new cats now. I hope that I'll be able to find another groomer who equals the patience and compassion that she showed Kramer. Cheers Debbie!”

“I have a hard-to-groom Golden Retriever and the staff has been very kind to her over the years. She is a rescue animal and quite deaf and easily spooked but they are kind and patient and she always comes home looking and smelling great.”

“Debbies school was never closed down by any state. It was a wonderful school and i would go again in a heartbeat! The dogs were treated with all the love in the world. They showed me the best ways to control the dogs that were harder to handle, without EVER harming the animal. Debbie and her family are fantastic groomers! If you want your animals groomed the right way, Southern Comfort Groom and Board is the way to go.”

“decifering the above response: the state shut her school down for building code violations in the midst of complaints received from prior students. Unless you were born yesterday...you can read between those lines...the allegations are hard to prove because they are based on testimony only, but due to the fact that the allegations are quite believable and with corroboration from others, agencies can use whatever means necessary to seek a certain outcome: in this case the building code violations were the ticket. whatever the case, tax payer money is no longer funding this school and hard working individuals arent being scammed....at least for now anyway!”

“Absolutely not true. Come and visit anytime. Our own dogs will convince you that they are well cared for, strong, active, and loved. Established 20 years ago, we do not share our excellent knowledge with students anymore. Some obviously have not appreciated the opportunities for an excellent successful career as Pet Stylists, especially those funded by government programs. For the many successful Grads of our program, congratulations, we are proud of you. Come back for our soon to be announced Advanced Grooming Seminars.”

“This salon is also a grooming school. I would not recommend this salon to any pet owner as I and other students have witnessed the abuse that goes on at this salon. The animals are hit if they bark or go to the bathroom on the grooming table. I have personally witnessed dogs being shoved off the grooming table and and hit with the clippers. One dog slipped out of the grooming leash and was jerked off the table and body slammed not once but twice to the floor and then drug by a choke chain. The owner and her assistant constantly scream at the dogs. As a school you do not get what you pay for either in teaching hours or training.”
